An exciting opportunity exists for a Youth Development Manager to join our team.

Job Description


The purpose of this position is to coordinate the delivery of key elements of World Vision’s schools and youth strategy, including the creation of education resources, and leadership events.  You will also be the voice of schools and youth into the development of the 40 Hour Famine marketing campaign.


You will also lead our Young Adults (18-25 age) programme, including the recruitment, support and mentoring of the youth volunteers as they advocate for change.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Coordinate the creation and delivery of WV Youth Conference, Easter Camps, Famine Leaders Day and Senior Scholarship Week.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of WV’s education resources for schools and church youth groups.
  • To ensure the 40 Hour Famine marketing campaign is aligned to the schools and youth of NZ.
  • The successful engagement of the Young Adults programme.



  • Experience of working effectively with young people.
  • Highly developed communications skills, both written and verbal,
  • Confident public speaker.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Account management, sales or fundraising experience
  • Experience leading a team of volunteers.
  • An understanding and experience of Christian values, teachings and church culture.
  • Understanding of the education sector and how schools’ function, knowledge of the NZ Curriculum would also be an advantage.
