Job description

 

The purpose of this position is to develop and sustain effective ongoing relationships with schools and church youth groups alongside their wider communities across the Lower North Island. You will be inspiring them to raise funds for World Vision New Zealand’s work; to develop an understanding and ongoing commitment to justice issues among the youth of New Zealand and to make a substantive contribution to the wider work of World Vision.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Inspiring students and youth to consider the injustices in the world around them and how they can change it through classroom talks, education resources, school assemblies and World Vision events.
  • Encouraging schools and churches to sign up for the 40 Hour Famine through building strong and authentic relationships.
  • Supporting students, teachers and youth group leaders in fundraising for the 40 Hour Famine through your leadership and encouragement of the Famine Ambassadors (interns).

  

Qualifications/experience:

  • An understanding of the education and NZ schools sector
  • Experience of working effectively with young people
  • An understanding of contemporary justice issues
  • Fundraising, account management or sales experience.
