The of Head Advocacy & Justice position is a critical role that will lead our advocacy work across the organisation. The position will help us to achieve changes in policy and practices that impact the lives of vulnerable children and inspire Kiwis around these issues.


The Head of Advocacy & Justice will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation in international partnerships and marketing and engagement to develop a flagship advocacy campaign for the organisation. They will help position WVNZ as a leader on child’s rights issues aligned with a biblical understanding of justice. 


This position will also play a critical role in helping to engage and enrich our supporters in New Zealand and working with the global World Vision partnership on advocacy initiatives.

Responsibilities are outlined on the job description; here's what you'll need to have:


  • Experience in designing and implementing advocacy campaigns, preferably on development and/or human rights issues involving public audiences in New Zealand
  • Experience engaging with government and carrying out work to influence policy and decision-makers
  • Ability to build strong relationships, engage and work on initiatives with other government and non-profit
  • Strong communication, presentation and networking skills 
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to articulate a biblical understanding of justice and support the Marketing & Engagement teams to communicate this appropriately to decision makers, the public, supporters, churches etc.
  • Preferably advanced degree in public policy, development studies, international relations, politics or related subjects
