Donor Development Manager (Major Donors)

We are looking for a Donor Manager to join the team to engage, manage and nurture a diverse high net worth supporter portfolio in Auckland. This is a 6 month fixed term contract covering a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new major donors. These donors will be partially or fully supporting development projects or communities in the countries where we work.

The successful candidate:


  • The successful candidate will have at least 3 years sales, or major gifts fundraising experience.
  • Relationship management experience.
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, strong business acumen and a proven ability to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required in order to scope out new prospects and professionally manage a portfolio of medium to high-net-worth individuals, businesses and charitable trusts.
  • Frequent domestic and some international travel required (COVID-19 dependent). Some weekend and evening work to accommodate donor schedules.
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have knowledge or experience of international development. They will be able to nurture a passion for World Vision’s mission amongst existing and new donors and demonstrate creativity in their approach.


Tenacity and a drive for results are crucial in this role.
