The Advocacy Manager position is a critical role that will help lead our advocacy work across the organisation. The position will help us to achieve changes in policy and practices that impact the lives of vulnerable children and inspire Kiwis around these issues.


The Advocacy Manager will work with senior leaders across the organisation to continue implementation our Modern Slavery Act advocacy campaign focused on business supply chain legislation in New Zealand. They will also help position WVNZ as a leader on child’s rights issues aligned with a biblical understanding of social justice. 


This position will also play a critical role in helping to engage and enrich our supporters in New Zealand and working with the global World Vision partnership on advocacy initiatives.

Responsibilities are outlined on the job description; here's what you'll need to have:

  • Experience in designing and implementing advocacy campaigns, preferably on development and/or human rights issues involving public audiences in New Zealand
  • Experience engaging with government and carrying out work to influence policy and decision-makers
  • Ability to build strong relationships, engage and work on initiatives with other government and non-profit agencies
  • Strong communication, presentation and networking skills
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to work cross-functionally
  • Preferably degree in public policy, development studies, international relations, politics or related subjects
